Terms of Service
STUB — plain-language draft only, not legal advice. Have counsel review and fill in the company name, jurisdiction, and contact details before relying on this.
We kept this short and in plain English on purpose — it's a $7 card, not a mortgage. Here's the deal.
These terms ("Terms") are a contract between you and [petalpost legal entity name] ("petalpost", "we", "us") for use of petalpost.io and any cards you order through it (the "Service"). By placing an order you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
petalpost lets you design a card, address it, pay, and have us print it on card stock and mail it via USPS to a US address you provide. We act as a print-and-mail service for the content you create.
2. Your content
You keep ownership of the words, names, and design choices you submit. You grant us a limited license to reproduce that content solely to print, mail, and provide support for your order. You are responsible for everything you submit, and you confirm that you have the right to send it and that it does not:
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
- contain unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, or obscene material;
- impersonate someone or be used to harass or contact a recipient against their wishes.
We may refuse, cancel, or refund any order whose content violates these Terms, at our discretion.
3. Orders, pricing & payment
Prices are shown at checkout (currently $7 per card, printing and US postage included) and may change over time; the price you see when you order is the price you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe; by paying you also agree to Stripe's terms. You confirm the recipient and return addresses are accurate — we verify the recipient address before printing, but we are not responsible for delivery failures caused by an address you entered incorrectly.
4. Printing & delivery
Your card is printed essentially as previewed. Slight variation in color and trim is normal in physical printing. Delivery times are estimates and depend on USPS. See our Refunds & Shipping policy for what happens if a card is lost or arrives damaged.
5. Cancellations
Because cards are printed to order, an order can only be changed or cancelled before it enters production. See the Refunds & Shipping policy for details.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no attempts to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer it, and no using it to send unsolicited or abusive mail. We may rate-limit, suspend, or block access to protect the Service and its recipients.
7. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms; the "last updated" date will change and continued use means you accept the update.
9. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your state/country], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions? Contact us.
